Madder is a reflective herb from the natural dyeing tradition, prized for its ability to impart warm, intense shades ranging from copper to cherry red. Rich in alizarin and other plant pigments, it enhances color naturally and enveloping, adding depth and vibrancy to the hair.

In addition to its reflective effect, Madder is also known for its purifying and rebalancing properties, ideal for treating the scalp, especially if it is sensitive or stressed.

The shade is adjustable based on the pH of the mixture: in a neutral environment, it produces a warm, vibrant red; with a few drops of lemon juice, it leans towards copper; with the addition of baking soda, it can intensify into a deeper cherry red.

It is perfect for adding to copper-brown mixes to intensify the shades, to blondes to achieve copper highlights, and to mahogany mixes to enrich them with depth and vibrant highlights.
